Google Honours Mandela on International Mandela Day

Search engine giant Google is honouring Nelson Mandela today with an interactive doodle on its home page.

The doodle celebrates different stages in the life of Mandela – from the village he grew up in, to his prison cell and his ultimate role as the first black President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.

The Mandela doodle is featured on Google’s Australian, UK, French, South African and other sites…BUT it is not displayed on the search engine’s main site (www.google.com). So if you’re in America try www.google.co.za to view it.

The Nelson Mandela quotes in the doodle include:
