Here’s what one YouTube user imagines a David Attenborough nature documentary would sound like “if David had been from Vereeniging” in South Africa.
Afrikaans4Dummies uploaded the following video saying “Everyone of all ages grew up with the iconic voice of BBC naturalist, David Attenborough. His crisp delivery captivated and mesmerized us, and for many it sparked our fascination with the natural world.
“We wonder if his narration would have commanded the gravitas we have grown used to if David had been from Vereeniging.”
In a similar vein to the previous video from this user, where Hollywood stars Matthew McConnaughey and Leonardo di Caprio were dubbed with South African accents in their infamous ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ restaurant scene, this video has all the South African slang – with words like skelm, gogo’s, skrik and windgat – but we’re not quite convinced the accent’s from Vereeniging!
