Although extremely fatigued after their long journey to South Africa, the 33 rescued circus lions from South America look happy to be back where they belong!

According to reports from Animal Defenders International (ADI), the organisation which led the rescue, the lions are all healthy after their long journey to Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary from Colombia and Peru.

The lions are unable to be released into the wild because circus owners removed their claws and several of their teeth… but will instead live out the rest of their lives in the safety of this beautiful sanctuary.
