Pistorius is being sentenced in the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp who he shot and killed in the early hours of Valentine’s Day 2013.
Arguments will be heard today for aggravation and mitigation of the sentencing. Prosecutor Gerrie Nel and advocate Barry Roux will be back, along with witnesses who are expected to reveal intimate details of his life as a prisoner.
The Supreme Court of Appeal overturned the High Court’s ruling of culpable homicide last year, finding Pistorius guilty of murder. Ironically, it is judge Thokozile Mosipa who initially cleared him of murder who will pass sentencing this week.
