South Africa’s rhinos have again fallen victim to the breathtakingly beautiful full moon which rose on Thursday evening… and was still shining bright last night.

Passionate wildlife advocate Jamie Joseph, from Saving the Wild, reported Saturday evening that “#Zululand has suffered another devastating full moon slaughter in Hluhluwe iMfolozi.

“I have wept over the #rhinos that have been butchered, and I have agonised over all the babies that will never be born.

“The South African government continues to peddle the story that they are committed to ‘turning the tide on #poaching’, and yet parks are grossly mismanaged by fat cats in faraway places, #rangers are not supported, vast tracts of land are left unprotected, and piles and piles of money are wasted on all the wrong things.

“It is only a matter of time before the truth will set us free.”

Jamie Joseph is on an anti-poaching mission: to  #ConvictGwalaRhinoKingpin and stamp out the #Corruption in #SouthAfrica that’s enabling poachers to bring out rhino to the brink of extinction.

She has already managed to convince South Africa’s Public Protector Thuli Madonsela to conduct a preliminary investigation into her corruption findings.

Jamie is hopeful that the reign of alleged rhino poaching kingpin, Dumisani Gwala, is coming to an end with his trial due to begin on Monday 5 September 2016.

According to Jamie, “he is responsible for the death of hundreds of rhinos in ‪#‎Zululand‬” and his poachers were active during August’s full moon.

“It’s been a devastating full moon,” she told SAPeople. “We cannot save them all, but we can save the future.”

Gwala is out on bail of R10,000 (US$640) for attempted murder and dealing in rhino horn, says Jamie.

“When police confront Gwala he continues to tell them, ‘I will never stop poaching!’ If you are waiting for someone else to save our iconic species you are waiting for ‪#‎extinction‬.

“If we lose the war on ‪#‎corruption‬ we lose the war on everything. Make a noise, keep the courtroom honest, and finally, ‪#‎justice‬ will be done.”

Jamie implores social media users to share the message and “shine a light on the injustice”.
