An accident in South Africa involving an offshore supply vessel – Go Regulus (in orange) – and what appears to be a fishing trawler (in blue) has been caught on video and shared on social media.
Mike Schuler, who uploaded the video, said the accident reportedly occurred at the Sturrock Dry Dock in Cape Town on or around 7 or 8 December.
Those sharing the video have said there seems to have been a flooding malfunction that led to the ships “banging around inside the dock”. Some have questioned whether there is a lack of maintenance or lack of skilled personnel behind the accident.
