During his visit to Kingston this week the President and his wife Mrs Nompumelelo Zuma were also taken on a guided tour of the Bob Marley Museum. No visit to Jamaica would be complete without it. They also met with the late reggae star’s widow Rita Marley…who presented them with gifts of hats (see below).

The President’s Jamaican trip was upon the invitation of Jamaica’s Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller, and whilst he was there the two parties also held bilateral discussions.

According to ThePresidency, “Jamaica is an important member of the African Diaspora and South Africa recognises especially the role played by Jamaica in the struggle against apartheid in South Africa. South Africa is proud to celebrate Jamaica’s achievements as an independent, stable and constitutional parliamentary democracy.”
