Jan Greeff – official world record holder!

Jan, who hails from Stellenbosch, began his braai master attempt at 7am on Thursday morning and is still at it right now, as he aims to set the new record at 80 hours.

(UPDATE: The grillathon is now officially over – Jan has closed the grill at a new official Guinness World Record of 80 hours!)

He officially broke the previous record of 62 hours and six minutes last night. That record was held by fellow South African Gareth Daniell.

Jan  broke the record, in the presence of a Guinness World Records official, in his new hometown of Columbus in Georgia.

Boerie rollAnd he made sure while he was at it, to offer the locals a taste of South Africa – the Americans were lining up queues for his boerewors rolls!
