American singer-songwriter Pharrel William’s hit “Happy”has spawned so many different versions of Happy-ness around the world from China to Cape Town…with the latest city to join in being Johannesburg.

But now there’s another version that’s going viral -starring a bunch of dogs and a very serious and talented cat!

The producers of the Johannesburg Happy version were given access to many venues in Johannesburg and thanked both them and the “friendly people of Jozi who willingly brought this to life” in their upload blurb.

The video was produced and directed by Motse UnbrandedCow and Lungi Molefe, with co-producer Themba Mbelu.

Meanwhile…Happy Dogs and a Serious Cat called Didga

An American animal trainer who’s trained various animals for celebrities including Mel Gibson and Pamela Anderson, has uploaded his own version that has gone viral around the globe. In his very happy video, he has choreographed a group of dogs – and a cat who likes to swim – to run, wade through water and ‘dance’.

On his YouTube page, CatManToo (aka Robert) – explained that his cat, Didga, learnt to swim when she was young after he noticed that she “didn’t react too negatively to water”.

He was quick to emphasise that this video took “months and months of patience and dedication to achieve what you see” and that he’s a “professional animal trainer so PLEASE don’t try getting your cat to swim at home!”

After the video almost 2 million views, Robert wrote the following message on YouTube yesterday:

“Hello, thanks for all the “likes”, shares and comments! You have questions? here are some answers. Didga is a girl, I adopted her from a shelter. I’m a dog trainer, without my own dog, but she grew up with dogs, (all dogs are clients’ dogs or just dogs on the beach); she is at the ocean/river a lot, she does lots of tricks and “dog like” behaviours, including rides on my stand-up paddle board, and swims from time to time. Yes, she’s the famous skateboarding cat (2.2 mil views, look for the video), I use a GoPro Camera & ‘final cut’ editing software. More Q? Cheers, Robert & Didga”
