Bryan Habana scored his 60th Test try in the dying moments of the match.

With six tries from Schalk Brits (his first Test try), Schalk Burger, Bryan Habana (scoring his 60th Test try in the dying moments of the match) and J.P Pietersen; conversions by Handre Pollard and Patrick Lambie and penalties by Man of the Match Handre Pollard…Hanneke Meyer’s South African team proved they have what it takes, and won 46 – 6.

Last night captain Jean de Villiers had said: “We all know how important this game is for our country, the game of rugby, and what happened last weekend did a lot of damage. We now have a responsibility to rectify that. We disappointed a lot of people last week and [now] we need to stand up. We put ourselves in this position and we need to get ourselves out of this position.”

And, phew, they did.

Springbok Fans

Of course everyone will always remember the Japan match…but while it may have embarrassed South Africa for a week, it will inspire youngsters in Japan for years to come. And the way Springbok fans congratulated the Japanese touched the world and will be remembered forever.

Today the jokes are behind us with a whopping six tries against Samoa in the Rugby World Cup. JP Pietersen was on fire – scoring a hat trick with three of those tries, his first in a Springbok jersey!

@pumelasalela: My favourite @sapeople for the day.75 years old. Flew from Canada to watch the #Bokke

For those fans who travelled to Birmingham to support the Bokke – like the 75-year-old couple pictured above who flew from Canada – it was all worth it. To see their team win after the devastating loss last week.

Pumela Salela from Brand SA described the atmosphere at the stadium as “absolutely magnetic”!

South African cheers could be heard around the world we’re sure! Well, certainly on Twitter where one fan, Aroon, summed up by the feelings of many with this tweet:

“This is how we roll. Yesss????, #Bokkefan4life #Itsinourblood #RSAvSAM #RWC2015 #greenandgold @Springbok_Club @sapeople @KFMza”
