The report, compiled by former Public Protector, Advocate Thuli Madonsela, includes claims that Zuma, some Government cabinet members and some state companies acted improperly.

The allegations stopped short of declaring that crimes had been committed by Zuma and his posse, but it did call for a judicial enquiry.

The report was released in November 2016; and a month later Zuma filed an application at the Pretoria High Court seeking a review and requesting that the High Court set the Report aside. Zuma denies any wrongdoing.

In February, Mkhwebane revealed she was seeking legal advice on how to proceed with the issue… and today she announced her office’s decision to oppose the application by the President.
