An outraged South African road user, Rudi Viljoen, saw two trucks misbehaving on Sunday, 18 June… and captured their childish, stubborn and deadly antics on film, posting the video on Facebook within minutes of filming the incident at around 14h45… in the hope, he said, that the driver of the truck on the right would lose his job before other people lost their lives.

Within two days it has been shared over 46,000 times!

The video shows the truck on the left being overtaken… but although it’s pulled over it doesn’t appear to have reduced its speed; whilst the impatient truck on the right persists in his overtaking attempt instead of pulling back… and puts oncoming cars in an incredibly dangerous position. Watch for yourself…

Arrive Alive posted the video, saying: “Road Safety is a Team Activity…. Drive Defensively…. Be Prepared to Slow Down if another is Creating a Threat to Safety!”

Social media users have called for the truck drivers to be prosecuted on the grounds of reckless and negligent driving, particularly the driver of the Sugar Fields truck. Rudi, who was travelling with his son, posted a close-up photo of the truck.

Rudi said (in Afrikaans): “Please share… before innocent lives are lost #befok.” He said he had made contact with the owner, and that the incident occurred about 50km before Laingsburg, heading in the direction of the Cape.

The address on the truck is for Sugar Fields Guesthouse in Verulum, KwaZulu-Natal. The owner of the truck, Kishore Randeen, says the driver will face a disciplinary hearing tomorrow, and told local reporters: “I have never had a problem with him before and he has been working for me for three years now. The man has six children, but one does not act like that.”
