A video showing a Porsche driver kicking and punching a vehicle in a road rage incident has gone viral Wednesday evening (watch below), clocking up 2,000 shares in three hours… as South Africans come down hard on the aggro driver, and stick up for the elderly man in the other vehicle.

The footage was uploaded by facebook page, Intelligence Bureau SA. They said the incident occurred on London Road, passing Alexander.

“Two vehicles had a minor bumper bash so the elderly man (71 years old) in the Range Rover pulled over so they could exchange details, and the man in the other vehicle, a Porsche, went ballistic and acted totally irrational and started attacking the elderly man in the vehicle! #stoproadrage”

Many South Africans on social media rushed to the defence of the elderly man (who can be heard out of breath with fear, as he videos the man in the last part of the video). As many said, nobody knows the story behind what happened – but no matter who was at fault, it is never an excuse for violence. And accidents happen.

All that was required in this incident was for the two drivers to exchange owner details and report the accident. Facebook user Carlos Rego pointed out that now the Porsche driver will also be up for “Assault GBH (Grievous Bodily Harm), Road Rage, Malicious damage to property, intimidation etc”.

The Porsche driver – who is MD of an automotive supplies company – has been named and shamed on Facebook… and has since removed his Facebook page.

The 71-year-old has not been named, but several of the over 1,000 commenters have expressed sentiments such as this one: “I want him to know we back him 100% and if he needs any assistance from us…”
