South Africans are loving a new Chicken Licken ad which features an Icelandic boy Bjorgen, living in Iceland, whose memories of a previous life as a South African – Frikkie – cause him to squawk like a hadeda, wear a comb in his socks (!) and say voetsek to dogs…
His behaviour leaves his parents very confused and worried until a stranger appears with a ‘miracle’ Chicken Licken meal… which transforms their son into a “normal boy”. “Howzit!” he says.
The ad is for the fast food company’s Chick’n Boerie™ Burger… “for those truly South African at heart”.
Fans have left messages saying how proud the advert makes them to be South African. One fan – Riaan Dreyer – who lives in Iceland, said: “Ek bly in Ysland, die advertensie is beyond awesome!”
