Cradlestone Mall in Krugersdorp, South Africa, has taken the decision to close until further notice following yesterday’s tornado.

The Mall issued this statement: “On Monday afternoon 9 October 2017, Cradlestone Mall was hit by the tornado that went through Johannesburg’s north western areas.

“After discussions with the relevant local authorities it was decided that in the best interest of public safety, the Mall will be closed until further notice, for repair work to be carried out.

“The safety of customers remains the main priority, and the public, customers and tenants are assured of the urgent attention to this matter.”

At least one person died and two had to be hospitalised after the tornado swept through Krugersdorp.
