Tonight a sweet and talented young teenager, who was born in Zimbabwe, will battle it out against three contestants in the UK to see who is crowned the country’s winner of The Voice.

Sixteen-year-old Donel Mangena has won the hearts of thousands of fans in the UK with his thrilling performances on the TV show during the elimination rounds.

And no matter what the outcome tonight (although he’s a hot favourite to win), the youngster from Africa is already a winner – his coach on The Voice, Will.I.Am, has promised to continue supporting him beyond the contest… and he’s been invited (via an invitation sent by Prince Harry nogal) to perform for the Queen’s 92nd Birthday on 21 April 2018 (which is a very prestigious event, and to which even Will.I.Am has never been invited to perform, as he pointed out to UK press). Donel thinks it’s “pretty cool”.

Although the teenager has lived in Southampton in the UK for a long time, he has stood out during the competition for the way he infuses an African beat into his songs, and his upbeat energy; plus everyone – including the celebrity judges – loves Donel’s enthusiastic dancing Granny Nita (who didn’t hesitate to show off her dance moves on stage!).

Donel told The Voice his father is his inspiration. The father/son duo have a studio in the garden shed at home. Donel has previously sung in Zimbabwe and the UK.

The Sun reports that Donel’s dream is to be bigger the Michael Jackson. “That’s my dream – to be global, and if I carry on working hard then that could be what can come. But for me it’s God first, family first, music first and working to be the best… and not changing who I am as a person, and hoping the world can love me for who I am.”

The live final show of The Voice begins at 20h30 on ITV tonight, Saturday 7 April 2018.

There are four finalists, and only one will win the £100,000 and a record deal… and it’s up to the viewing public to decide who that will be!

If you’re in the UK – you know who to vote for!!!
