A KwaZulu-Natal student, Chrysantha Palan, has become a social media star after she was captured on film strutting her stuff like a supermodel at the University of KZN graduation ceremony.
Not only did she exude the sheer joy and pride of graduating, but Chrystantha even had esteemed UKZN chancellor, Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng, grinning at her awesome catwalk style, as he conferred her degree upon her.
Chrysantha told The Sowetan she was channeling her inner Beyonce!
The 22-year-old Durbanite said: “I think I channelled my inner Beyonce… she just came out when I heard the audience cheering me on. This was planned but not really. I did plan to strut‚ but not so dramatically!”

Her father filmed the video and she shared it with friends, before going out for lunch with her mom. When she got home, she discovered it had gone viral!
Chrystantha – who was wearing a beautiful navy blue dress that she sewed herself – graduated cum laude in BA Honours: Media Studies.
