Just three weeks into her job, Manana’s domestic worker – named as Christine Wiro in local reports – laid charges against her employer on Sunday night at the Douglasdale police station. She claims that Manana had tried to push her down the stairs at his home in Fourways, Johannesburg; and that he threatened to have her deported back to Zimbabwe where she’s from.

EWN reports that Wiro asked the police to halt investigations into the matter.

This is not the first time 34-year-old Manana has been in trouble with the police. In September 2017, he pleaded guilty to assaulting three women in a Fourways club. He was sentenced in November to a R100,000 fine or 12 months in prison, as well as 500 hours of community service.
