LIMPOPO: South African Police in Letsitele, outside Tzaneen, have launched a massive manhunt for the suspects involved in the killing of three lions at a farm in the Letsitele Policing precinct. The incident took place on Sunday, 26 August 2018.

It is alleged that the farm manager was patrolling the camp when she noticed that the fence was cut.

SAPS said: “She went to the lion’s enclosure and discovered two lion carcasses with their heads and paws cut off. The third carcass was found on the same spot with no missing parts.”

Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects should contact Colonel Alpheus Mokale at 082 565 6524 or crime stop on 08600 10111, or sms 32211.

The Limpopo SAPS says it strongly condemns the ongoing killing of protected species, including lions, which is still prevalent in some areas; and threatened harsh punishment for those involved.

Police investigations are ongoing.
