BA will also again be increasing its daily winter Cape Town schedule to provide double-daily summer flights from London Heathrow, as well as introducing three weekly flights between Gatwick and the Mother City next month.

Meanwhile travellers with SAA, on one of their overnight flights from London to Johannesburg, are able to make easy onward connections to over 30 destinations across Southern Africa.

SAA and Mango fly on average:

  • 19 times a day between Joburg and Cape Town in each direction
  • five times a day between Joburg and Port Elizabeth in each direction
  • 15 times a day between Joburg and Durban in each direction.

SAA’s new A330-300 offers state-of-the-art technology; and according to SAA “they are quieter than previous generation aircraft, equipped with advanced avionics and navigation systems, and are more environmentally friendly due to ultra-fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce Trent engines, resulting in lower fuel burn and, as a result, lower carbon emissions.”
