In a tweet confirming his resignation on Friday, Phasiwe posted a picture saying “It is Finished”.

He said: “I’d like to thank Eskom for entrusting me with the huge responsibility of being the national spokesperson of the company over the past five years.”

A seasoned journalist and communicator, Phasiwe joined Eskom’s media desk in 2008 and became Deputy Spokesperson in 2014. In September 2015 he was promoted to National Spokesperson.

Eskom’s Group Chief Executive said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Khulu. He has served the company with the heart of a servant. We wish him all the best with his future plans.”

Phasiwe’s last day at Eskom will be on 30 April 2019.
