The Matrics at St Johns DSG in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, have sent out a Special Invitation to President Ramaphosa and the First Lady, Dr Motsepe that is sure to give you goosebumps.
The prefects’ theme for this year is ‘Rewrite the Stars’, inspiring the younger girls to show determination, have courage and pursue one’s dreams.
With that in mind, the Matrics recently asked the school’s management team if they could invite an inspiring couple as Guest Speakers and Guests of Honour to their Prize-giving ceremony in October.
The school said: “We were all rather surprised when we realised that they had none other than President Ramaphosa and First Lady, Dr Motsepe in mind! #casual.”

If you’re watching this video and know the President or Dr Motsepe – please show it to them. If they can’t attend, they’re still sure to be filled with such pride. And if they can attend, it’s certain to fill the youth of SA with hope and inspiration for their journey ahead.
The video features seven African languages and represents so well the hopes, dreams – and capabilities – of young South Africans.
