The ISS is visible because of the sun reflecting off its exterior. In Cape Town, look up during the early morning hours from about 5 am, depending on the day, 20 May until 27 May, and it can be viewed from less than a minute to 6 minutes. In Johannesburg sightings, also early in the morning, began yesterday and last through 24 May. For viewing times in other places in the country, check the NASA site here.

Also note that on 27 May, two astronauts will be sent by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to the Space Station, with their spaceship attached to a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
