The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has postponed its march to the Siemens headquarters in Midrand today, Friday, 5 May.
EFF ACCUSES TELECOMS COMPANY SIEMENS OF RACISM
In a statement, the EFF notified that the postponement is as a result of a planned meeting between Siemens and the victim, Ms Nosisi Mabanya, which is set for Tuesday, 9 May 2023.
“We trust that Siemens will do the just thing to resolve all existing issues, not only with Ms Mabanya but also with all black staff in your employ.”

The company is being accused of unfair labour practices and racism which have allegedly resulted in the victimization of employees of colour.
On 16 March, the red berets made their presence felt when they picketed outside the premises in Midrand; however, the party’s efforts did not yield the desired outcome.

INITIAL NOTICE TO MARCH TO THE COMPANY’S HEADQUARTERS
A notice to march to Siemens was received by TheSouthAfrican, with the EFF planning to be forceful if talks do not take place with the company today.

The letter read:
“I, Moshe Koma, serve you with this notice in my capacity as the Provincial Secretary for the EFF in Gauteng. We hereby notify Siemens management of our intended March to your offices, as evoked by sections 3 (1) (2) and (3) of The Regulation of Gathering Act 205 of 1993. We invite you to receive a memorandum of demands from the EFF in Gauteng.”
“The reason for this march comes as a result of your office’s refusal to adequately address the very serious allegations of structural racism and the unfair treatment of your former
employee Ms Nosisi Mabanya. The EFF in Gauteng has tried countless times to resolve this through consultative meetings, which Siemens has arrogantly rejected it. Therefore, we have no option but to show our concern through protest action, which is a Constitutional right enshrined in section 17 of the Constitution. We, therefore, request that your management team avails itself to receive our memorandum of demand”.
