City have had to move their scheduled DStv Premiership clash against Richards Bay on Saturday, 13 May to the Athlone Stadium.

City was set to host Richards Bay at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday afternoon, but the DStv Premiership showdown has now been moved from the picturesque Green Point-based stadium to the Athlone Stadium in Athlone on the Cape Flats.

This move came about because the Stormers will host Irish province Connacht in a United Rugby Championship semi-final at the Cape Town Stadium. The Stormers had beaten the Bulls 33-21 at the same venue this past weekend to advance to the last four of the cross-hemisphere competition.

The news of City’s venue relocation was confirmed via the club’s official Twitter page on Tuesday. The Cape Town-based soccer club also wished their rugby friends well in their highly-anticipated playoff showdown.
