Last Saturday the Stormers had over 44 000 fans cheering them to victory against the Bulls – and even more are expected this weekend.

The defending champions of the United Rugby Championship face Connacht at DHL Stadium on Saturday.

The match kicks off at 16:00 and the winner plays either Leinster or Munster in the final.

Last week, DHL Stadium was rocking with the biggest attendance figure since the Stormers made it their home.

Now, the locals are intent on smashing their own record yet again.

STORMERS TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE

By midweek as many as 35 000 fans had bought their tickets to watch the URC semi-final with the full stadium now available for online ticket sales.

It is likely to be Steven Kitshoff’s last match on home soil with Leinster tipped to beat Munster.

“First of all, it was just a blessing to be able to play again after a long time off with injury, and against the Vodacom Bulls at home,” wing Leolin Zas told SA Rugby Mag.

“I think these are the things you dream of when you are a little boy so I was just very happy and blessed.

“I think personally we have the best supporters in Cape Town! The vibe is just different and they just bring the best out of us.

“Knowing that so many people believe in us, they spend their money, which they work hard for, to buy a ticket to watch us play, and we would love to have the same amount of people there this weekend, or even more! It makes a huge difference.”

KITSHOFF SET FOR FINAL APPEARANCE

On Kitshoff’s potential farewell appearance, he said: “I think it would be a great gift to Kitsie if he can have a home final before he leaves us, and I think the boys would love to give him that for his last game!

“Kitsie is a great leader, on and off the field, and we’re going to miss him a lot. So it is all up to us to give him a good farewell present, but for now we are just focused on this weekend’s game.”
