Percy Tau is set to play in his third CAF Champions League final after helping Al Ahly overcome Esperance of Tunisia.

Tau played a huge role in the first-leg where he scored a brace and helped the Red Devils beat Esperance 3-0 in Tunisia.

On Friday, Tau provided the assist to Hussein El Shahat to score the only goal of the match as the Egyptian giants won 4-0 on aggregate.

Al Ahly’s win saw them reach their fourth successive final.

TAU IS SET TO WIN A TREBLE THIS SEASON

Al Ahly are top of the Egyptian league and are likely to win should they continue their current form.

In April, they triumph over Pyramids FC to win the Egyptian FA Cup for a record 38th time.

Tau’s coach Marcel Koller has earlier thanked supporters for turning out in their numbers this season.

“I thank Al Ahly fans for their constant support in the recent games,” said Koller.

“The absence of the fans helps me as when I shout at the players, they hear me, but despite that, I enjoy the atmosphere in their presence as football is played for the fans,” he added.

Al Ahly will either face Mamelodi Sundowns or Wydad Casablanca in the final.

Those teams played to a 0-0 draw at the Stade Mohammed V stadium on 13 May 2023.

Masandawana are favourites to reach a final after the second leg scheduled for Saturday, 20 May at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

Should they find a way to beat Wydad, it could set a reunion between Percy Tau and his former coach Rhulani Mokwena.

Kick-off is at 15:00 (SA time).
