In his interview with the BBC, Julius Malema warned that there would be anarchy and looting should the grid collapse.

Economics Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema has warned that there will be a revolution in South Africa should the grid collapse in an interview with the BBC’s Stephen Sackur on HARDtalk.

Eskom is currently implementing Stage 4 and 5 load shedding alternatively and has not ruled out the possibility of implementing higher stages in winter as the demand for electricity will be high.

MALEMA WARNS OF A REVOLUTION IN BBC INTERVIEW

In March this year, Malema led a march against rolling blackouts among other things as they continue to negatively impact the economy and people’s livelihoods.

Last week the bold politician also warned that South Africa is heading straight to darkness as the electricity crisis continues.

“Let the grid collapse as it is going to happen and see what’s going to happen in this country. I’m not wishing for it, I’m saying it is going to happen,” Malema said.

“You will see what will happen, do you think that once the grid collapses people are going to exchange roses with the government?” he continued.

The EFF leader said people are going to rise and when they do so there will not be any leader who will be leading them.

“They (the people) will be leaderless, there will be anarchy, looting all over this country because nothing will be working,” he added.
