If the incident between the BMW M4 GT4 and the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 wasn’t captured, one would be hard pressed to believe it happened.

The footage from this weekend’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Race in Detroit took place at the one and only hairpin on the track, Road and Track reported.

IMSA said: “This moment had us flying off the edge of our seats yesterday! Thankfully everyone is okay.”

The logical explanation behind the incident is that Turner Motorsports BMW M4 GT4 driver Robert Megennis was coming in too hot at that section.

Megennis opted for the inside line to get the jump on the Van Der Steur Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 driven by Rory Van Der Steur.

The BMW M4 GT4 had a tad more speed into that section and ended up riding up the Aston Martin’s rear left section before mounting the car.

The M4 GT4 landed on the British car’s pushing both cars into the barrier, before the M4 GT4 slid off the Aston, back onto its wheels, and was able to actually drive away, according to BMW Blog.
