Thulani Hlatshwayo has expressed his gratitude to coach Gavin Hunt for reviving his career at SuperSport United this season.

BREAKING | Orlando Pirates star Lorch found guilty of assault!

The 33-year-old defender was released by Orlando Pirates where he spent a frustrating few years following his switch from Bidvest Wits.

THULANI HLATSHWAYO NAMED SUPERSPORT UNITED’S PLAYER OF THE YEAR

He joined Matsatsantsa at the beginning of the 2022/23 season and helped the team to a third place DStv Premiership finish – and a spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

He said according to the Sowetan: “Coming here I wanted to enjoy the game and to revive my career. Gavin, someone who knows me and who I’ve done a lot of good things with, helped me a lot.

“I think those training sessions [are] what I needed… I was able to revive my career because of the sessions, the training regime I know from Hunt and that’s what has made me who I am when I was with him at Bidvest Wits.”

Thulani Hlatshwayo added: “I’m happy with the season I had, even though I had a concussion at one stage and I was out for a month. But with the number of games that I played, I’m content and if I were to give a reflection I would say I’m happy with it.”
