Kaizer Chiefs have had so many young players graduate from their academy, but not too many have gone to reach their full potential.

In recent years, things have taken the nosedive with the majority of their academy products struggling outside the Amakhosi setup.

Of course, there are those who have succeeded in making strides, and they include Siyabonga Ngezana, Njabulo Blom and most recently Aden McCarthy.

The trio moved straight from the Chiefs senior team to abroad although Blom has since found himself wanting after an unsuccessful stint with US-based outfit St. Louis City.

KAIZER CHIEFS ACADEMY PRODUCTS STRUGGLE WELL-DOCUMENTED

As things stand, Happy Mashiane, Samkele Zwane and Blom are out in the cold after struggling for form.

Mashiane has since been released by Chiefs while the club decided against resigning Blom after his unsuccessful loan spell with them.

Zwane, back from his loan with Siwelele FC is still uncertain as to whether or not he has a future with Chiefs under the new technical team.

This can be stretched to as far as the days of the likes of Itumeleng Shopane, Keletso Sifama and Lebohang Lesako.

Sabelo Radebe also had a promising future ahead of him, and Chiefs thought he would reach a certain level when they loaned him out to Richards Bay FC.

He would then be released by Chiefs, and the speedy winger then moved to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Lerumo Lions.
