Sundowns off to Austria after Jayden Adams’ memorial service

Mamelodi Sundowns will jet off to Austria immediately after the memorial service of the late Jayden Adams on Thursday.

Adams passed away on Saturday; a few days after his return from the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Bafana Bafana.

The Brazilians released a statement to confirm the postponement of their Austrian tour as soon as the news of Adams became public.

It was then confirmed that there would be two separate memorial services for Adams on Thursday morning (private) and after (public).

Sundowns already had plans to travel to Austria for their pre-season camp where they have lined up high-profile friendlies.

Now, they will return to Johannesburg and board their flight to Austria from the OR Tambo International Airport on Thursday night.

Sundowns are expected to arrive in Austria on Friday night, and it’s unclear, at this stage, if they will still play their first friendly on Saturday, 18 July.
