‘Mountain is calling’: Lynn Forbes confirms Everest goal

Celebrating her first birthday without her son – rapper AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes – Lynn Forbes has again voiced her desire to climb the world’s highest mountain; Everest, seemingly in his honour.
Five years ago, Lynn – fondly known as Glammy – climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in celebration of her 50th birthday and the birth of her first grandchild; Kairo. But this time around, Glammy is seemingly seeking peace and serenity as she embarks on the dangerous expedition.
In February, AKA was shot and killed by an unknown gunman outside a Durban restaurant. An arrest by police has yet to be made.

AKA’S MOM CONFIRMS MT EVEREST DREAM
After celebrating her 55th birthday earlier this week, Lynn Forbes once again hinted at her plans to climb Mount Everest.
The mom-of-two posted a pic of her summiting Mount Kilimanjaro in 2018. She captioned it: “Kilimanjaro taught me humility, patience and gratitude … she showed me how truly small I really am”.

She added: “I’ve just turned 55, I feel detached from myself and reality. The mountain is calling, and I must go .. to rekindle my spirit and nourish my soul
When one follower asked if Lynn would climb Kilimanjaro, she responded: “Mount Everest base camp”.
Mount Everest is located in the Himalayan mountains across the China–Nepal border in Asia.

CLIMBING KILIMANJARO
It’s unclear when Lynn will embark on the dangerous expedition. However, she does have invaluable experience. In 2018, Lynn and a group of climbers submitted Mount Kilimanjaro – Africa’s highest mountain in Tanzania.
The mission was three-fold: celebrating her 50th birthday, her first grandchild Kairo Forbes, and raising money for charity.

Lynn was part of the 2018 Trek4Mandela Expedition, which raised over R1 million to support charities for disadvantaged school girls in South Africa.
“The most free I’ve ever felt”, she captioned a clip of her adventure.
