Fast-growing e-commerce giant Temu has officially launched a local warehouse in South Africa, aiming to deliver orders much faster to local shoppers.

According to MyBroadband, the new warehouse could enable deliveries within just one or two days in some cases.

This marks a significant change for South African customers, who are used to waiting several days or even weeks for their packages.

Temu warehouse promises faster delivery in SA

Until now, all items on Temu have been shipped directly from China. Thanks to its new warehouse, Temu can now deliver “local” items in under two days—and in some cases, by the next day.

This marks a major shift for South African shoppers, who have typically waited several days or even weeks for their orders.

Although Temu hasn’t confirmed which courier handles its local deliveries, international shipments still follow the usual route: Buffalo Logistics brings them into the country, and Fastway completes the final delivery.

The warehouse marks Temu’s first major local infrastructure move since it entered the South African market in January 2024, suggesting a stronger commitment to local operations and possible future expansion.
