
Eskom to carry out nine-hour power cut in this Cape Town area
Eskom is carrying out scheduled maintenance in Cape Town, and Wednesday’s work will cause a nine-hour power outage.

The City of Cape Town confirmed that Eskom will carry out a nine-hour power outage to maintain critical electricity infrastructure.
If all goes according to plan, the maintenance will take place on Wednesday, 16 July, from 7:40 to 17:00, causing electricity supply interruptions.

The City of Cape Town stated that electricity supply interruptions will affect only the area marked on the map and only on the specified date.

Similarly, the City of Cape Town has also scheduled maintenance work that will result in electricity supply interruptions in Silvertown, Athlone on Wednesday, 16 July, from 8:00 to 18:00.

REMINDER: POWER COULD BE RESTORED ANYTIME
Moreover, the City of Cape Town has warned that the electricity supply could be restored at any time and urged customers to treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned maintenance work.
“Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution and to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on.
“The City of Cape Town apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their cooperation and understanding,” the metro municipality said.
