After years of running networking events for South African professionals in London, I can confidently say the November SAFFA Breakfast Indaba is shaping up to be something special.

Why?

Because we’ve secured Edward Griffiths as our keynote speaker.

EDWARD GRIFFITHS: EXPERIENCE THAT COUNTS

I’ve had the privilege of working with Edward on various projects over the years, and his track record speaks for itself.

During his time as CEO at Saracens, I watched him transform that club from underperformers into serial champions.

Having heard Edward speak on many occasions, I can attest to his ability to tell a compelling story – you’d expect nothing else from a man who has published 26 titles and started his career as a sportswriter.

Edward’s career spans over four decades in elite sport – from steering SA Rugby through the nation-building 1995 Rugby World Cup victory to building championship teams in the UK.

Now running a boutique sports agency managing 24 elite athletes including AB de Villiers, he brings a unique perspective on leadership, transformation, and cross-border business opportunities.

What makes him particularly relevant for our community? He understands both markets intimately.

Zimbabwe-born, England-raised, with deep South African roots – Edward gets the expat journey and the opportunities that come with straddling multiple markets.

THE SAFFA BREAKFAST INDABA DIFFERENCE

Thursday, 6 November 2025, 08:00-11:00 at Vivat Bacchus, London Bridge

The SAFFA Breakfast Indaba isn’t your typical London networking event.

We’ve deliberately crafted something different – three hours of quality engagement where genuine business connections actually happen.

No rushing off to catch the morning commute, no superficial small talk over instant coffee.

Alongside my co-hosts Terence WittenJaco Botha, and Reyhana Jano, we’ve built an environment that combines professional networking with authentic South African hospitality.

Think proper breakfast (including those boerewors rolls that remind you of home), structured networking opportunities, and interactive dialogue sessions focused on real business challenges and solutions.

Our format ensures every attendee gets the opportunity to present their business briefly, fostering collaboration rather than competition.

I’ve seen significant partnerships emerge from these sessions – the kind that actually move businesses forward.
