RIP: Ex-PSL star dies aged 43, cause of death revealed!

Death has struck the Malawian football with news that one of their legends has passed away while in the United Kingdom.

Former Jomo Cosmos and Polokwane City star striker Esau Kanyenda has passed away aged 43.

Kanyenda, who retired from professional football in 2019, first arrived in the PSL in 2001 to sign for Cosmos.

He spent two seasons with them, scoring 26 goals in 46 games before moving to FC Rostov in Russia.

The former Malawi International then returned to South Africa in 2012 to sign for Polokwane City who he played for until 2017.

The news of his passing was confirmed on Tuesday by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM).

EX-PSL STAR KANYENDA SUCCUMBS TO LIVER CANCER

According to a report by KickOff, Kanyenda was battling liver cancer, and it took his life on Tuesday morning.

At the time of his death, Kanyenda was at his home in Manchester, United Kingdom.
