Stellenbosch FC have officially announced the signing of former Orlando Pirates star Wayde Jooste.

Jooste was most recently on the books of AmaZulu but he joins Stellies as a free agent as he had been without a club.

Stellies have, so far, struggled to replicate their last season’s form, and they need to take a different direction in the new year.

Nonetheless, Steve Barker’s side appears to be doing the most in the CAF Confederation Cup compared to the league.

Now, with Jooste on board, one would expect them to improve both defensively and in attack.

Jooste brings a wealth of experience and pace as he’s considered a right-wing back with an ability to provide assists.

Jooste is a veteran player who has been a professional footballer for 12 years since making his debut in 2013.

He first played for the now defunct Bloemfontein Celtic before moving to Golden Arrows in 2016.

It was in 2020 when Orlando Pirates signed him from the now defunct Highlands Park.

Jooste also had a stint with Maritzburg United, now Durban City, and also with AmaZulu FC.
