AFCON 2025: Orlando Pirates coach in Morocco to support Bafana Bafana
Bafana Bafana are not only supported by South Africans at the ongoing AFCON, but they also have a fan in Orlando Pirates coach.
Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is attending the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Ouaddou, who was born and bred in Morocco, is using this PSL break to be with his family and watch African football.
Speaking to SABC Sport’s Velile Mnyandu in Morocco, Ouaddou said while his Pirates players dominate the Bafana Bafana squad, he is in Morocco to support the entire team.
Ouaddou played for Morocco national team during his playing days, and in fact, he scored in the 2004 AFCON in Tunisia.
Morocco were in the same group as Nigeria, Bafana Bafana and Benin, and they finished top of the log.
During that year, Morocco reached the AFCON final but lost 2-1 to hosts Tunisia on Valentine’s Day.
