Here’s the weather outlook for South Africa’s nine provinces.
The South African Weather Service has issued multiple warnings for South Africa, cautioning of heavy rain, flooding and severe thunderstorms posing a danger to life and infrastructure.
SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS
A. Orange Level 9 Warning: Disruptive Rain with further heavy downpours leading to widespread flooding, resulting in danger to life due to fast flowing streams, displacement of communities, widespread damage to settlements or structures over the northern escapement and the Lowveld of Mpumalanga as well as the eastern parts of Limpopo.
B. Orange Level 6 Warning: Disruptive Rainfall resulting in flooding of roads and settlements (formal and informal), mudslides rockfalls and soil erosion, danger to life due to fast flowing stream, damage to property, infrastructure, loss of livelihood and livestock are expected over the central parts of Limpopo (parts of Capricorn and Sekhukhune district Municipalities) and eastern Highveld of Mpumalanga (Emakhazeni, Msukaligwa, Mkhondo and chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipalities).
C. Yellow Level 2 Warning: Disruptive Rainfall resulting in localised flooding of susceptible formal/informal settlements or roads, low-lying areas and bridges, localised mudslides, rockfalls and soil erosion are expected in places over the central parts of Limpopo as well as Mpumalanga, and the north-eastern parts of Kwazulu-Natal.
D. Yellow Level 2 Warning: Severe Thunderstorms with heavy downpours, damaging winds, large amounts of hail and excessive lighting leading to localised flooding and damage to settlements and infrastructure are expected over the central parts of North West as well as the Free State, and the extreme south-western parts of Limpopo.
E. Yellow Level 1 Warning: Damaging Winds with localised damage to settlements (formal and informal), localised damage to temporary structures and some journeys require longer travel times over the western interior of Northern Cape.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over most parts of the Northern Cape.

Gauteng
Gauteng can expect cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index is High
Mpumalanga
Mpumalanga, the Place of the Rising Sun, can expect cloudy and cool to warm conditions with scattered showers and thundershowers, but these are more widespread in the east.
Limpopo
In Limpopo, cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.
North West
North West, known as Bokone Bophirima in Setswana, can expect partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the east.
Free State
In Free State, cloudy with morning fog patches over the extreme east at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, except over the south-western parts.
Northern Cape
The day will start fine, windy and hot, becoming partly cloudy over the eastern parts. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.
Western Cape
Fine in the extreme west at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated rain and showers over the south coast in the morning. The wind along the coast will be Fresh to strong southerly to south-westerly along the west coast, otherwise moderate south-westerly along the south coast.
The expected UVB sunburn index is Very High
Eastern Cape
The Western half: Cloudy and warm with isolated showers and rain along the coast, but partly cloudy over the interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly.
The Eastern half: The day will start cloudy in the morning south of the escarpment, with light rain along the coast and adjacent interior, otherwise partly cloudy with afternoon thunderstorms, mainly east of Queenstown. The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh south-westerly.
KwaZulu-Natal
Morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers in the north, otherwise isolated. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly becoming easterly to north-easterly from the south by afternoon, spreading northwards.
