Safe Hands: Top 5 PSL goalkeepers with most cleansheets
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen leads the charts with a whopping 10 cleansheets from just 14 league games played.
The race for the Betway Premiership title is still wide open with South Africa’s ‘Big Three’ leading the log.
Mamelodi Sundowns top the standings with 29 points from 14 games, followed by Orlando Pirates who are on 28 points after 12 games.
Kaizer Chiefs are third with 27 points from 14 game; a huge improvement for them compares to the previous seasons.
Now, while Sundowns and Pirates are strong favourites to win the league title, one cannot simply rule Chiefs out altogether.
For goalkeepers, the battle for the Goalkeeper of the Season award is on, and SA People takes a look at how the race is shaping up.

A BIG SHOUT FOR BAFANA BAFANA RETURN?
With his consistent performances for Chiefs, Petersen is certainly raising his hand for a return to the Bafana Bafana setup.
He was recently overlooked for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), with Ricardo Goss making the cut instead.
Furthermore, Petersen has entered the history books as he is the first Chiefs goalkeeper to record 10 cleansheets after Daniel Akpeyi in the 2019-20 season.
What’s interesting is that it took Petersen just 14 games to achieve that while Akpeyi managed his 10 cleansheets in 25 league matches.
