Here’s the weather outlook for South Africa’s nine provinces.
The South African Weather Service has warned that hot and humid conditions will result in very uncomfortable weather in parts of South Africa. A Yellow Level 2 warning has also been issued for severe thunderstorms expected to batter seven provinces.

IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS
A. Yellow level 2 Warning: Severe thunderstorms with localised flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas and bridges, large amounts of small hail expected over vast parts of the Free State, North West, Gauteng, western parts of KwaZulu-Natal, southern parts of Mpumalanga, extreme south-western parts of Limpopo and the extreme north-eastern parts of Northern Cape.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected across most of the Northern Cape.
ADVISORIES
Hot and humid weather will result in very uncomfortable conditions over the north-eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

Gauteng
Gauteng can expect cloudy in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with scattered afternoon showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index is Moderate
Mpumalanga
Mpumalanga, the Place of the Rising Sun, can expect cloudy with morning fog patches over the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated to scattered afternoon showers and thundershowers over the Highveld.
Limpopo
In Limpopo, cloudy with morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.
North West
North West, known as Bokone Bophirima in Setswana, can expect partly cloudy and warm, becoming cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers.
Free State
In Free State, morning fog patches over the eastern parts, otherwise cloudy, windy and warm to hot, with scattered afternoon showers and thundershowers, but isolated over the western parts.
Northern Cape
The day will start with morning fog patches along the coast, otherwise fine and hot to very hot, but partly cloudy and windy with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the north-east. The wind along the coast will be fresh southerly.
Western Cape
Morning fog patches in the extreme south-east, otherwise fine and warm to hot. It will be partly cloudy in the east. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly.
The expected UVB sunburn index is Very high
Eastern Cape
The Western half: Partly cloudy and warm, but hot in places over the interior. The wind along the coast will be fresh north-easterly.
The Eastern half: The day will start partly cloudy and warm with light rain along the coast and adjacent interior in the morning. Scattered afternoon thunderstorms over the interior, but isolated in the west. The wind along the coast will be fresh north-easterly.
KwaZulu-Natal
Partly cloudy and warm to hot with scattered afternoon showers and thundershowers in the west and southern interior, otherwise isolated except in the extreme north-east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate easterly to north-easterly.
