Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse has been handed a rare start against Gomora United in the Nedbank Cup.

The two teams – Sundowns and Gomora – face off in the Last 32 of this year’s competition.

REYAAD PIETERSE GETS FIRST START SINCE OCTOBER 2023

The last time Pieterse started a competitive match for Sundowns was on 18 October 2023.

And with this start against Gomora, this means Pieterse is making his first appearance for Sundowns in 475 DAYS.

That’s a year and three months of no action for the 33-year-old lanky shot-stopper.

Overall, Pieterse has featured 21 times (22 tonight) for Sundowns with 17 goals conceded and 10 cleansheets to his name.
