Getting ready for the NTT DATA Pro-Am at Fancourt this weekend
Experience the thrill of the NTT DATA Pro-Am at Fancourt this weekend as top golfers compete on South Africa’s most iconic golf courses.
The Garden Route is buzzing this week as one of the most prestigious stops on the Sunshine Tour returns to George.
From 12 to 15 February 2026, Fancourt Golf Estate is hosting the NTT DATA Pro-Am, a tournament that has become a cornerstone of the South African golfing calendar. Formerly known as the Dimension Data Pro-Am, this event brings together a world-class field of professionals and lucky amateurs for four days of high-stakes action.
The tournament is uniquely played across three of the finest courses in the country: Montagu, Outeniqua, and the world-renowned Links. Each course, designed by the legendary Gary Player, offers a distinct challenge, from the manicured parkland of Montagu to the rugged, inland-links feel of The Links.
What to expect at the NTT DATA Pro-Am
What sets the NTT DATA Pro-Am apart is its inclusive format. While the professionals are battling it out for a massive R7 million prize fund and crucial points in the “Road to Mallorca” rankings, they are also paired with amateur partners. This “betterball” format creates a fantastic atmosphere where business leaders and celebrities get to rub shoulders with the pros.
Fans can look forward to seeing some big names this year, including the legendary Ernie Els and the defending champion, Wilco Nienaber. The ladies are also in on the action, with the NTT DATA Ladies Pro-Am taking place concurrently on the Montagu and Outeniqua courses.
Making an impact beyond the greens
It is not just about the birdies and eagles. For instance, the event carries a strong social mission. This year, the tournament continues its partnership with Standard Bank. This initiative helps to promote women’s golf.
Additionally, the event supports the Solar Backpack Initiative. This project provides innovative school bags with built-in lights to students. Consequently, children in rural areas can study even after the sun goes down.
If you find yourself in the Western Cape this weekend, there is no better place to be than the galleries of Fancourt. Between the stunning mountain views and the world-class golf, it is a sporting highlight that truly captures the magic of South Africa.
