South Africans Abroad: Lorch scores on debut for Al-Ittihad
Thembinkosi Lorch handed Al-Ittihad Tripoli a 1-0 win over Al Shamooa in the Libyan Cup in what was his first official match.
South Africa attacker Thembinkosi Lorch scored on his debut for Libyan giants Al-Ittihad Tripoli this weekend.
Al-Ittihad faced and beat Al Shomooa 1-0 in the Libyan Cup on Sunday, thanks to debutant Lorch.
Lorch was recently unveiled by Al-Ittihad following his multi-million Rands move from Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club.
The 32-year-old arrived with high expectations from the club and fans, and this goal could a long way in his attempt to cement his place in the starting line-up.
Lorch, having only arrived recently, started on the bench against Al Shamooa as the technical team stuck with the tried and tested.
He was introduced in the second half of that match with both Al-Ittihad and Al Shamooa locked at 0-0.
And it didn’t take him much time to hit the ground running as he scored what proved to be the winner for the Libyan giants.
