CAFCL Draw: Sundowns avoid Al Ahly, Pyramids and Esperance

Mamelodi Sundowns have had their CAF Champions quarterfinal opponents confirmed following Tuesday’s draw.

The Brazilians have avoided Al Ahly, Pyramids and Esperance while they could NOT have drawn Al-Hilal.

This is because the two teams were in the same group, meaning Sundowns will face Malian outfit Stade Malien.

Defending champions Pyramids have been drawn against Moroccan giants AS FAR while African powerhouses Al Ahly will face Esperance de Tunis.

The other quarterfinal fixture will be between Moroccan outfit RS Berkane and Al-Hilal.

Should Sundowns get past Stade Malien over two legs, they will face the winner between Esperance and Al Ahly in the semifinals.

These are two familiar foes as Sundowns have played against them in the CAF Champions League in recent years.
