Former South Africa U17 International Matthew Palmer has secured a move to Croatian outfit Slaven Belupo Koprivnica.

Palmer was on the books of Ubuntu Football Academy which continues to unearth and export talent across Europe.

The left-footed centre-back spent some time with Lyn Oslo of Norway but it is Slaven Belupo Koprivnica that gave him his first professional contract.

“The football here is very tactical and physical, which has pushed me to grow quickly. I have wanted the opportunity to play in Europe for years, and through patience, hard work, and dedication, that dream has now become a reality,” said Palmer as per iDiski Times.

“Ubuntu has shaped me in so many ways — not only as a player but as a person. Since I was 12 years old, they have invested their time, effort, and belief into my journey.

“They are my second family, and I am deeply grateful. I am the player I am today because of that support. I am because we are.”

Now, with the current season already in its second round, Palmer has been sent out on loan for him to adapt to life in Croatia.

Palmer will spend the remainder of the current season with Radnik Križevci who are campaigning in the Second Division.

Radnik Križevci are currently placed fourth place on the log with an eye for promotion.
