South Africa attacker Thapelo Maseko was on target as AEL Limassol beat Paralimni 2-0 in the league on Friday night.

This was Maseko’s second goal in AEL colours having recently opened his account from the bench in the Cyprus Cup.

The Mamelodi Sundowns loanee appears to be slowly getting his career back on track after struggling for game time for months.

SOUTH AFRICANS ABROAD: MASEKO NETS HIS SECOND FOR AEL

Maseko got a rare start for AEL, and this is simply after his winner in the Cyprus Cup two weeks.

And the left-footed attacker wasted no time as it took him 35 minutes to impress the AEL technical team.

He was then replaced by fellow striker Paroutis in the 73rd minute with AEL still holding on to their lead.

Paroutis, also, did not disappoint as he put the game to bed with an important strike deep into stoppage time.

WHERE ARE AEL ON THE LOG?

As things stand, AEL are currently placed seventh on the Cypriot First Division log with 33 points from 23 games.

They are 21 points behind log leaders Omonoia who recently acquired the services of Mihlali Mayambela.
