South African winger Kurt Abrahams was on target as SK Beveren thrashed Patro Eisden 4-1 in the Belgian First Division.

The win was important as it secured Beveren’s promotion to top flight football for the upcoming season.

And this objective was achieved with a few games to go as Beveren are on 66 points from 24 games.

Abrahams and his teammates are 15 points clear of second-placed KV Kortrijk which also has a South African on their books in Cassius Mailula.

Having recently returned from Serbia where he spent two years, Abrahams made an impact at Beveren.

The 29-year-old attacker has already scored nine goals and provided three assists in 23 league games this season.

With promotion now in the bag, Abrahams will now focus on trying to win the Golden Boot award.

Abrahams is now five goals behind leading goalscorer Ralf Seuntjens of third-placed Lommel.

WHO IS KURT?

Abrahams is a South African winger who was born and bred in Cape Town, and started his football at Cape Town United academy.

He has never played his professional football in the PSL as he moved to Saint-Truiden in 2017.
