FIFA World Cup: 104 days to go, 104 matches in store!
The FIFA World Cup is upon us, and today marks exactly 104 days before the global showpiece in Mexico, Canada and the US.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada and the US is on the horizon as we are just over 100 days to go.
This year’s edition will see 48 countries battle it out for the trophy, meaning more matches will be played.
As things stand, 42 counties have officially qualified with the remaining six spots set to be taken in March.
That’s when the FIFA inter-continental playoffs will be played. This mini-tournament is scheduled to take place in. Mexico.

Today, 27 February 2026 marks exactly 104 days to go before the start of the global showpiece as the countdown continues.
The 104 number also holds significance in the sense that there will be 104 matches at the North America games.
This because of the expansion of the tournament from 32 to 48 teams going forward with Africa getting 9 slots plus one (through the playoffs).

WHEN IS THE START OF THE FINALS?
This year’s FIFA World Cup tournament will get underway on Thursday, 11 June and the final is scheduled for 19 July.
Co-hosts Mexico will face Bafana Bafana in their opening match on 11 June in what will be a repeat of the 2010 edition in South Africa.
Bafana Bafana are in Group A alongside Mexico and South Korea while the other team will be confirmed in March.
